The project focuses on how transnational communities are formed and how “the North” reaches beyond territorial boundaries to include numerous cultural and educational networks.

I det interdisciplinära projektet Nordic Spaces in the North and North America: Heritage preservation in Real and Imagines Nordic Places utforskas expressiva formers roll när nordiskt liv omskapas i kölvattnet av migration och teknisk innovation. Projektet ingår i det mångvetenskapliga forskningsprogrammet Nordiska rum.

This project specifically identify and explore the role of performance in the reshaping of Nordic life. By focusing especially on different performances of heritage, the project foregrounds the performative aspect of several Nordic spaces and highlights the central importance of the materialized as well as the embodied experience.

The Nordic Spaces in the North and North America: Heritage Preservation in Real and Imagined Nordic Places project which lies behind discussion groups, lectures, papers, conference panels, articles as well as an exhibition, a theatre festival is a project funded by Stiftelsen Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (2008-2011) and includes
