How to apply to Konstfack as an incoming exchange student.

Application
In order to apply you need to fill out the application form and include the following in one PDF document:

• Letter of motivation (½ a page)

• CV

• Portfolio: 5-10 pages (A4 size) Include pictures, titles, descriptions, and descriptive text for each portfolio piece (not larger than 15 MB, It is good if you can use Adobe Professional, where you can easily change the format of your pictures.)

• Transcript of records, translated into English, showing your academic records from your home university

• Passport copy


Please send one PDF document including all the application documents digitally to:

international@konstfack.se

In order for your application to be considered, your home university must have sent us the nomination before deadline.


Please note that you will get a confirmation by mail that we have received your complete application for exchange. Make sure you get the confirmation - if you do not then we have not received your application!

 Approximately 6-8 weeks after the deadline you will be able to know if you have been admitted or not. If you have been admitted by email.


Which semester can I apply to?

Our programmes can only admit exchange students to the Undergraduate level.
There is one exception with Fine Arts. They can also admit to the Graduate level, second semester. As follows:

Ceramics and Glass: Autumn semester during the third year. Please note that you need to have a background in either the ceramics field or the glass field in order to apply, since you will be placed in the third year, if admitted.

Graphic Design and Illustration: Spring semester during second year and Autumn semester during the third year. 

Industrial Design: Spring semester during the second year and Autumn semester during the third year. 

Interior Architecture and Furniture Design: Spring semester during second year and Autumn semester during third year. 

Jewellery and Corpus: Autumn and Spring semester during the second year.

Textiles: Spring semester during second year.

Fine Arts: Autumn and Spring semester during second year, second semester at the Graduate level. Please note that you have to have a background in Fine Arts to be accepted as an exchange student to the Fine Arts program. If you have another background but your practice is in the field of Fine Arts, please make sure to show that in your portfolio and to explain that in your motivation letter. You also have to be prepared to work independently. 

Department of Visual Arts and Sloyd Education, Secondary level: Spring semester during third year. This can be flexible for incoming students. 

Upper Secondary level: Autumn semester during second year. This can be flexible for incoming students.

On the two Teacher education programs above it is possible to study courses such as Visual Communication, Spatial Design, Narration and learning, Media, Photography.

Please note that being admitted as an exchange student to Konstfack means that you will follow the courses offered at that program for the specific semester. You will not be able to choose freely among all courses, nor will you be able to access all the different workshops. Some programs will not offer courses, instead you are expected to work individually on your own project.
