Aesthetic Knowledge Forms
is a practice-based research project aiming to develop teaching in the arts in primary and secondary schools. The study focuses on how aesthetic knowledge in the subjects visual arts, music, dance and craft can be made visible, analyzed, and strengthened. The project examines how teachers’ planning and instructional approaches shape the knowledge students develop and how teaching can be improved. The work is carried out in dialogue-based research groups where teachers’ experiences are central, and multimodal, multisensory learning situations are mapped and analyzed.

The research is conducted at Konstfack, the Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH), and the Royal College of Music (KMH), in collaboration with Botkyrka Municipality, Kulturama, and Järfälla Municipality.
