Francesca Pezzotti's master's degree project, Wet Soil for a Burning World, has been selected as the Jury Winner in the Material Innovation category of the Arts Thread Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2026. Francesca graduated from our Design Ecologies master's programme past spring.
The project "Wet Soil for a Burning World" explores forest fires and how charcoal can be reactivated to support both preventive measures and long-term regeneration.
The project has also been selected as a finalist in the Taiwan International Student Design Competition 2026, under the theme of Resilience, placing it among the top 0.3% of over 13,000 submissions worldwide.
Plus that Francesca has been selected to represent Sweden in the Young Finnish Design Awards.
