The region's largest art competition winners are Katrīna Levāne (Art Academy of Latvia) and Adam Gidlund (Umeå Academy of Fine Art, Umeå University). Anne Klontz, Head of Exhibitions at Konstfack, has been part of the jury since 2019.

"Forest Floor" by Katrīna Levāne, Art Academy of Latvia and "The Rot" by Adam Gidlund, Umeå Academy of Fine Art, Umeå University.

For the first time in the award’s history, now marking its 10th anniversary, the Grand Prix was jointly awarded by two artists. It acknowledges their distinctive practices that push the boundaries of contemporary art  through cross-media experimentation and conceptual approaches.

The Nordic & Baltic Young Artist Award was established in 2016 and the award celebrates outstanding graduates from eight academies in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Sweden. Each year, the participating academies nominate their most promising graduates, whose works form a cross-sectional overview of the region’s new artistic voices. The 2025 jury combined leading curators, professors, and art critics from the participating academies and beyond.
