Design Ecologies' student receives the German Ecodesign Award 2025
9 december 2025
Philipp Remus, student at the master's programme Design Ecologies, is awarded for the project "Felt the Future – Walking with Wool".

The project explores the production of shoes made from wool, that adhere to the principles of circular design. At Konstfack Philipp Remus is now further developing the project with the goal of bringing it to a near-production stage.
What the jury said:
"'Felt the Future' is an inspiring and forward-looking project that innovatively combines craftsmanship and digital manufacturing with consistently circular design principles. With a bold mono-material approach using 100% wool for shoes, it shows how circularity takes on functional form, transcends conventional design horizons, and paves the way for a future-oriented design culture."
The German Ecodesign Award is the highest state award for ecological design. Every year, the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Environment Agency award prizes to visionary solutions at the intersection of material innovation, digital intelligence, and the circular economy. This year's 14 winners were selected by a nine-member jury of design and political experts from approximately 380 applications.
