Sofia Runnarsdotter, with a Konstfack master's degree in Fine Art in 2022 and currently in the course Konstfack Writers, is one of 37 finalists of the PhMuseum 2024 Women Photographers Grant.
She is nominated for her master's work Girl, Battle, a long term project that stains from a personal experience being a dedicated handball atlete as a teenager. All recipients of the The PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant (consisting of $11,000 in cash plus a solo show at PhMuseum Lab, screenings at Photo Vogue Festival, and more) will be announced in December.
PhMuseum is a curated platform dedicated to the visual language and its culture. The project was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is currently based in Bologna, Italy. The PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant, now in its 8th edition, aims to empower the work and careers of female and non-binary professionals of all ages and from all countries working in diverse areas of photography. Its mission is to support the growth of the new generations and promote stories narrated from a female perspective while responding to the need to work for gender equality in the industry.
