Glitch – Katja Pettersson

The paintings can be seen as self-portraits that negotiate coexistence. In the large-scale aquarelle painting figures appear mirrored in plants, rocks and shells in various states of decay and decomposition where everything is in flux.

Objects that are in a circular wheel of time, an aspiration to create a new kind of reality. In the digitally manipulated collages, humans are rendered as fragmented and multifaceted.

Body positions that are in a glitch, like when a problem unintentionally occurs in electronic systems, fragmented images that touch on memories, energies and the intangible. Work that focuses on the hierarchy between humans and nature.
