FoBoS - National Graduate School for Visual Arts and Sloyd

Konstfack is part of The National Graduate School for Visual Arts and Sloyd, FoBoS.


The National Graduate School in Visual Arts and Sloyd Education was launched 2020. The purpose of the school is to expand knowledge within the subject area visual, virtual and material culture as well as practice-based knowledge. The graduate school is open to teachers wanting to deepen their knowledge within the framework of graduate studies and leads to a Degree of Licentiate of Arts.

The Swedish Research Council funds the school 2019-2023.

The graduate school is a collaboration between

• Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts and Design
• Stockholm University

FOBOS at Konstfack
At Konstfack the graduate school will be placed at The Department of Visual Arts and Sloyd Education, IBIS. IBIS conducts teacher education and research within the field of visual culture and learning, which also includes material, virtual and digital cultures. Educational sciences is the main disciplinary research domain at IBIS, but the department is active within a transdisciplinary environment and also connects to the subjects of art, technology and design, including learning design.

Konstfack's doctoral students within the FOBOS programme will follow the study plan at HDK, University of Gothenburg. More information available here.
