Anna Maria Orrù PhD. SAR/MSA The foundation of Anna Maria Orrù’s work is embedded in biomimicry (nature-inspired), artistic research, food and in curating performative research, providing an alternate approach to the field of ecological design to tackle the climate emergency. She works on projects crossing transdisciplinary boundaries between artistic research, ecological design/architecture/art and embodied methods. She holds a Doctoral degree in Architecture/Artistic Research, and the thesis publication is called ‘Wild Poethics – exploring relational and embodied practices in urban-making’ (2017). She is Affiliated Senior Lecturer at the Design Department at Konstfack - University of Arts, Crafts and Design, but also teaches and lectures in other Swedish universities on these topics, including in Italy. She is also co-founder and director of the Nordic Biomimicry knowledge hub. In her spare time, she is a beekeeper and takes care of an olive grove.
