Oscar Guermouche deceased

Alumnus, former board member and colleague Oscar Guermouche is mourned and missed by many.

Oscar Guermouche was born in 1977 in Stockholm, grew up in Borgholm on Öland and received his master's degree in fine art from Konstfack in 2009. His art often dealt with ethnicity, masculinity, and the relationship between body, text and language as a carrier of identity. At the time of his death, he ran the course "The text in the room" at Konstfack together with Magnus Bärtås.
He often exhibited internationally but also at institutions such as the National Museum, Magasin III, Kalmar Art Museum and Göteborgs Konsthall.
Oscar Guermouche was also a constantly writing; he is a published artist who, since 2020, ran the award-winning publishing house Praun & Guermouche together with the graphic designer Sandra Praun. He was a valued and recurring lecturer and guest teacher at both the Royal Academy of Arts, Valand Academy and here at Konstfack, where he was also a member of the University Board until September this year.
Oscar Guermouche was 47 years old, is mourned and missed by many.
