Konstfack Hosts International Glass Symposium
20 May 2026
The Department of Crafts, in collaboration with the Lviv National Academy of Arts, has invited teachers and students from Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Latvia and Slovakia to take part in an extensive week-long program.

Luke Holden, a student on the CRAFT! Master's programme in Ceramics and Glass, during the glass symposium in Konstfack's glass workshop.
With the aim of strengthening ties with universities in Central and Eastern Europe and laying the groundwork for future collaborations, participants were invited from the National Academy of Art in Sofia (Bulgaria), the National University of Arts Bucharest (Romania), the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design (Poland), the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Slovakia), and the Art Academy of Latvia.
During the week, students from the invited universities work alongside four Konstfack students from both bachelor's and master's programmes in ceramics and glass. Workshops in the glass studio are combined with lectures and gallery tours within the framework of a so-called BIP format under Erasmus — a Blended Intensive Programme, where digital learning at a distance is combined with a shorter period of physical exchange abroad. The results will be presented in the glass workshop on Friday 22 May.
