Apply for Konstfack's graphic workshop residency positions during 2026-2027

The bachelor's programme Graphic Design and Illustration announces two residency positions in our graphic workshop for the academic year 2026-2027. Apply no later than 17 May 2026.


This year we are looking specifically for a designer/illustrator/creator that has knowledge in letterpress printing and etching, or is interested to self-learn these methods in our workshop.


What does the Residens entail?
* One year of free access to Konstfacks print workshops, such as Intaglio printing, Relief printing, letterpress, etching and screen print on paper.

* Half time presentation in December/January for GFI/VK students about your process of printing in the workshops.

* Participation and planning development in the workshops.

* Working space with desk in your own room together with other residens next to the workshops.

* End presentation and exhibition in September 2027.

* One day workshop together with students from GFI/VK.

Profile of applicant
* An individual or group with knowledge of one or more printmaking techniques such as screen printing, relief printing, intaglio, or photopolymer. Riso and large-format digital printing are not included in the residency, as these techniques are already well developed and very popular amongst students.

* A person who is able to be present and explore printmaking techniques at an average of 2 days per week.

* Applicants active in the field of visual communication are preferred.

* Someone who is comfortable with, and enjoys to share their knowledge with students.

* Experience in printing at konstfacks workshops, or alumni is considered a good credential.

Application
* Portfolio: 3–5 works.

* CV: Work experience, experience leading workshops, and any exhibitions.

* Max one A4 page answering the following questions:
1. Why are you applying for the residency?

2. How many days per week, in average, are you able to come in to the workshops?

3. What other commitments do you have?

4. How does visual communication relate to your practice and professional life?

5. Which printmaking techniques do you have experience with, and at what level? Do you have prior experience in working at Konstfacks print workshops?

6. Give an example of a workshop in a printmaking technique that you could have for a group of 10–15 students.

7. Present an project idea you would like to develop during the residency.

Collect all pages (portfolio + CV + Q&A) into one single PDF, maximum size 15 MB (CHECK BEFORE SUBMITTING), and name it:

We may contact three-five applicants for interviews in May/June. Final decisions will be announced before 15 June 2026.
