Anna Valtonen becomes a member of the STEM delegation
27 February 2025
Konstfack's Vice-Chancellor will be one of the members of the government's STEM delegation and the only one participating from an artistic university.

On Monday, the government presented its so-called STEM strategy. It contains goals for how education in natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics in Sweden should be strengthened.
Anna Valtonen will be one of the twelve members of the STEM delegation, which is tasked with taking the strategy from words to action. She is the only one participating from an artistic university.
STEM is an abbreviation of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Internationally, A as in "Arts" is often integrated – STEAM – and Konstfack is one of those who has highlighted that innovation and competitiveness become even higher if creativity and artistic ways of thinking are included.
The delegation shall strengthen the coordination and collaboration between public actors and businesses. In their work, they place particular focus on increasing girls' and women's interest in science and technology. Other delegation members are from Teknikföretagen, Gullmarsgymnasiet, Rödabergsskolan, Girls in STEM, Sweden's student unions, Sweden's Engineers, the Wallenberg Foundation, Chalmers University of Technology, Tekniska museet and the National Agency for Higher Vocational Education.
