Photo workshop for broadened recruitment

22 October 2024

In our continuous work to broaden the recruitment, the students Ailin Mirlashari (Fine Art master's year 1) and Heaven Feday (Fine Art  bachelor's year 3) held a workshop with the aim of letting art and photo-interested young people from different parts of Stockholm get to know Konstfack and learn about analog photography.

The workshop was a collaboration between Konstfack and the Järva-based association Rise and Shoot and took place on 19-20 October. The purpose was to give young people from different parts of Stockholm, with an interest in art and photography, an opportunity to immerse themselves in analog photography and at the same time get to know Konstfack as a university. This was part of a larger initiative by the school's Broadened Recruitment Group to open up our resources and network to a wider audience.

The participants came from Rise and Shoot and, together with students from Konstfack, they had the opportunity to work practically in the school's photo room and darkroom. Among other things, the participants took pictures with analogue cameras with a focus on framing and developing both film and paper; all with the aim of deepening the participants' knowledge of the craft of analogue photography.
