Crafting Words/Crafting Objects – on artistic writing and text as material

Already during Stockholm Craft Week in October, the autumn's most interesting book Crafting Words/Crafting Objects, about text in relation to objects and text as a material, was released. Now it is available at Konstfack's library and in bookshops.

The book Crafting Words/Crafting Objects is the result of a writing group that was started at Konstfack in early 2021 by the artists Maja Stjärna, Johan Schalin, Malin Ida Eriksson, Emelie Liljebäck, Sebastian Hägelstam, Maria Johansson, Tina Domeij and Andrea Peach, professor of artistic writing. During the pandemic, they met regularly via Zoom and shared texts on different themes and writing assignments they gave each other in connection to their respective artistic practices. The book contains a selection of these texts and associated images.

The book is also sold at Konsthantverkscentrum (Bellmansgatan 3 in Stockholm), where an exhibition inspired by the book and presenting works of the participating artists, runs until January 7.
