The exhibition explores the entanglements of toxicity, disrupted environments, and bodies within a more-than-human world. The exhibition considers how we live with toxic conditions and how forms of becoming-with emerge within and beyond contaminated environments. Working across disciplinary boundaries, the participating artists, researchers, designers, and craft practitioners attend to the afterlives of extraction and industrial production. Their works engage with colonial histories, waste, environmental degradation, and possibilities for regeneration.
Toxibilities connects the local histories of the Dalsland region to broader geographies of pollution and resource extraction, tracing how these processes continue to unfold across time and place.
The exhibition project and publication is made possible with the kind support of Kulturrådet, Langmanska and Stiftelsen Stenebyskolan.
