matt lambert announces his thesis "Cruising with Craft to the Ends of the Worlds: Practices of Shattering Becoming Scyborg and Dancing with Dragons as Possible Cartographies".

lambert's research explores craft as a critical companion for "cruising" through institutions, examining how craft's languages and practices can support equity, decolonization, and challenges to traditional academic structures—particularly within the margins or "undercommons." Drawing on La Paperson's concept of the scyborg, Lambert considers how colonial tools and institutional resources can be reassembled for decolonial purposes, extending this approach beyond academia to archives, museums, and artistic research.

lambert is a non-binary, trans, multidisciplinary artist, writer, curator, and collaborator focused on equity, inclusion, and reparation. Their work spans making, writing, curating, and performance; is widely published, exhibited, and collected internationally; and includes fellowships and advanced degrees in critical craft theory and metalsmithing.
