Every year since 1951, the Edstrand Foundation has awarded one of the largest art scholarships, thus substantially contributing to the evolving art scene in and around Sweden. Established in tribute to the siblings Reinhold, Gunhild and Thekla Edstrand’s passion for contemporary art, the Foundation has supported generations of young artists in their practice, by giving them the means to focus on their artistic development. Thus, this anniversary exhibition also celebrates 75 years of art history and offers an insight into how such an interest and involvement in art can benefit society at large.

Meriç Algün, Senior Lecturer in Fine Art with specialisation in Interdisciplinary Practices, participates with the work Billboards (2012). Meriç Algün was awarded in 2016.
