The "Heritage, Culture, Community" research platform is organizing a lunch lecture with Könül Rafiyeva on 29 September at 12:10-13:00 (please bring your own lunch) in Mandelgren.

Könül Rafiyeva is a curator and artistic researcher based in Baku whose work moves across textile, media, archives and institutional memory. Her research considers textile as a medium for storing, transmitting and transforming knowledge through gesture, labour, repetition, repair and collective practice, with a particular interest in what happens to embodied and material knowledge as it enters museum, archival and digital systems.

Her ongoing research develops across two interconnected lines: textile as media before and after the digital, and Curating as Textile Practice as a methodology for organising relations between objects, bodies, memories and histories. Her recent work has developed through ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme, and includes her recent project Threads of Remembrance at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
