Curatorial practice has historically responded to context and desire, offering perspectives and modes of engagement while connecting artistic practices with their audiences. Over the past two decades, the platformization of social dynamics has created new environments and ways of acting: from how we access books and find love, to how content is presented. The ways in which we perform as a society have shifted significantly.

New temporalities and a present-oriented sense of performativity have become key aspects in the construction of identity, influencing modes of artistic production and presentation. The curatorial responds to this evolving context by defining tools and systems of interaction.

In this session, participants from CuratorLab (curatorial course at Konstfack) will present their final curatorial projects, developed after a year of exploring platforms and performativity from a curatorial perspective. These projects span a wide range of approaches, including hair salons, cassette tapes, sunken ships, gossip magazines, meditation, open archives, emotional engagements with historical material, and open-ended questions about possible forms of gathering within contemporary art.
