Weave Away – proposal for textile embellishment in the library

Students from the bachelor's programme Textile show their proposal for textile embellishment in the library, which has been developed in dialogue with the library and their teacher Åsa Pärson. The practical aim is for the textiles to create a delineation between the library room and two adjoining rooms, B3 and the Group study room, and at the same time bring colour and soft materials into an otherwise slightly sterile library environment.

“Our project aims to develop a textile proposal for Konstfack's library consisting of three draperies and four wall-hung textile works. By working with reuse and preservation of older texttile techniques, such as dräll, we want to create a dialogue between tradition and sustainability.”
