In the exhibition MAGIC AND RESISTANCE, BOOM! unites magic and sisterhood through glass objects charged with power and spells that protect against misogyny and promote solidarity. These objects, or amulets, manifest the invisible bonds that have connected women throughout history.
The idea for the exhibition was born out of a sense of powerlessness in the face of negative societal changes that marginalize women, particularly those who defy norms. Within glass art—where glassblowing can be seen as a modern ritual—BOOM! finds a special kind of magic. Glassblowing is not just a technical process; it is an artistic and spiritual practice where artists play with matter, phenomena, and light. In the realms of art and magic, the past connects with the future, offering artists a path to liberation, community, and empowerment.
