Cikoria – Ellen Jakobsson

Ellen Jakobsson’s solo exhibition "Cikoria" deepens her long-standing engagement with landscape painting, zooming in and out of natural forms to reveal new ways of seeing and sensing our surrounding environment.

Jakobsson’s work centers on painting as a way of sensing and translating the volatility of landscapes. Through her integration of both outer and inner landscapes she reaches a profound observation of what it means to exist in different fluid stages and scales within nature’s intricacies, through tools of recognition, memory and longing. Her intimate, atmospheric compositions capture moments of stillness between shifting stages of temporality.

Ellen Jakobsson (b. 1998) is a student at the master's programme in Design - Spatial Design, in her practice working primarily with painting.
