The Ninevites – Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg at Svenskt Tenn

Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg, a Master's Textile student at Konstfack, has created two unique rugs exclusively for renowned Swedish brand Svenskt Tenn with bold, geometric patterns, inspired by traditional South African basketry, pottery, murals, and beading.

At the weaving mill in South Africa her home country, local women hand-spin and dye raw wool and mohair before hand-weaving the tactile rugs based on her textile design studio The Ninevites’ designs.

The rugs are part of the exhibition "Her(e)itage", which features four Afro-Nordic artists and designers.
