This seminar is a conversation between three members of the visual communication unit. They will share and discuss research and practice into forms and ways communicating information and the impossibility of objectivity.

You are warmly invited to read the short text "Being taken for granite" by Ursula K. Le guin.

Jöns Mellgren is an illustrator, director and writer, working as a lecturer at the BA in Graphic Design and Illustration at Konstfack. His practice based research is focused on dissecting infographic reporting around major news events. Jöns will present "Graphic News: Visualizing War".

Patrick Lacey is professor in graphic design and part of transdisciplinary collective Åbäke.

Moa Matthis is a non-fiction author, critic and holds a PhD in English Literature. She is senior lecturer at the master's programme Visual Communication

Research Seminars are a new seminar format which, throughout the 2023-24 academic year, will centre upon the discussion and dissemination of artistic research at Konstfack, and the sharing of new insights. Each seminar will be organised by a different department at Konstfack, and will take place on the first Friday of every month, 13:00–15:00.

This seminar, organised by Visual Communication at konstfack, is open to all staff, students and researchers at Konstfack, as well as members of the public.
