On 4 May, Research Lab warmly invites you to join us on a walk, a path without a final destination, as a shared experience, where each of the Research Lab participants will hold a stop and marks it with an activated engagement to the audience. We will show, tell, discuss and question what artistic research is and how we were able to uncover it through this study year and beyond.
We are honored to be guided by our tutors Roberta Burchardt (she/her) and matt lambert (they/them), as well as our special guest and conversation partner Martin Sonderkamp (he/they). Sonderkamp’s choreographic work seeks to expand disciplinary boundaries through collaboration and features stage works, participatory choreography, installation and scores.
As an unintentionally formed group of practitioners and an intentional group of researchers from various disciplines, we were brought together by curiosity. We want to offer everyone a bite of that intrigue that led us through the field of craft this year.
We will start at 9:30 with a meet and greet at the Konstfack front entrance.
At each stop held by the participant, the audience is encouraged to ask questions, give feedback, or otherwise engage with the field of artistic practice presented.
Around 13:00 or after all stops, we will hold a closing mingle, sharing food and drinks. Everyone is welcome to stay and continue making marks on the Field Notes.
What to expect
• Field Notes will be held in English with possible interruptions in mother-tongues.
• The walking path is under 1km outdoors; please note it leads through the park and the forest. There is an access path, but it may be challenging to navigate in some places. Please let us know if you need wheelchair access, and we will try and accommodate for this the best we can.
• Please let us know of any specific food allergies. There will be vegan and gluten-free alternatives available
• The walk will be documented by photographer Kristina Babak, please inform us if you do not wish to be in any of the pictures, videos, or recordings.
• Additional trigger warning, one of the stops will be performed by a clown-like character costume who is masked. Please do not be embarrassed; we do not expect participation if it is uncomfortable. One of us will guide you to a safe space in case you get triggered during the performance.
We look forward to seeing you there and sharing the path with you.
