Cecilia Edefalk will give an Artist Talk concentrating on her own practice, career and experience as an international artist based in Stockholm.
Cecilia Edefalk born 1954 in Norrköping, Sweden. Educated at Konstfack and The Royal Institute in Stockholm graduating in 1986.
First exhibited at Galleri Wallner in Malmö 1988.
(An exhibition on which Ola Billgren wrote: "Therefore, even the long since declared dead language of painting can once again begin to breathe in subtle version of literature.")
Edefalk was awarded Künstlerhaus Bethanien in 1993 where she continued living until 1999. Notable exhibitions include, Sao Paolo Biennial 1994, Documenta 2002. Moderna Museet 2009, Nordiska Akvarellmuseet 2009, Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde 2016.
Edefalk has taught at all the major Art Academies of Sweden and was Professor at The Royal Institute. Edefalk is represented by Carlier Gebaur in Berlin and Gladstone in New York and Brussels.
