TWO EXHIBITIONS

Mia and Agnes got to know each other during their time at a photoschool in Småland. With the same thoughts and ideas in feminism and photography they decided to do an exhibition together. Agnes is currently a student at Valand in Gothenburg and Mia at Konstfack in Stockholm. The exhibition is not only a way for them to meet, share ideas and thoughts but also as the name of the show points out - a way to make places and claim the space.

We talked about the common phenomenon that women often feel that they take too much space, both in the physical room as well as the social. The fear that someone will expose you as a fraud, that you're not really making "real" art. Or the most important thing, subjects that women often tend to be interested in and work with - In this case: the concept of family, nature, physical illness or fear - is still seen with lower status in our society. We want to change that. Making it relevant by saying it is relevant.
