Hidden traces of ancient words and texts are found all around us; ideas from times past constantly appear in our contemporary world. Languages, long dead, still speak to us – not least about the most classical of images, those of gods and demons.

From ancient cuneiform writings, peoples of antiquity can still be heard. Ola Wikander, author, translator and doctor of theology, tells us how language can conserve and transmit thoughts and ideas about motifs as diverse as creation, destruction, dragons, order and chaos.
