We are delighted to announce that on 14th June 2021, Behzad Khosravi Noori successfully defended his doctoral thesis, "Three or Four Ir/relevant Stories: Art and Hyper-Politics". The opponent at the public defence was Boris Buden, Associate Professor at Bauhaus Universität, Weimar.

Behzad Khosravi NooriBehzad completes his PhD on the KTD programme (art, technology, design), a collaborative doctoral programme established between Konstfack and The Royal Institute of Technology, KTH.

In the abstract to his thesis, Behzad describes the work as, 'an artistic research investigation, proposing a multi-sited, archaeological approach to histories of art and life that also constitute part of my lived experience in the Global South and the Global North. By bringing multiple subjects into my study, as well as historical reenactment in the form of a review of archival materials in the exhibition space, I explore possible correspondences, seen through the lenses of contemporary art practice, subalternity, and the technology of image production.'

The appointed grading committee consisted of Professor Irina Sandomirskaja (Södertörns Högskola, Stockholm), Associate Professor Nauman Naqvi (Habib University, Karachi, Pakistan), Professor Meike Schalk (KTH), and replacement committee member Professor Helena Mattsson (KTH). The decision to approve Behzad's thesis, and award it the grade of pass, was unanimous.

Following the announcement of the grading committee's decision, there was acknowledgement of the significance of Behzad Khosravi Noori's doctoral thesis: its historical rigour, artistic merit, richness of storytelling, and most of all its overarching importance as a body of research, and the contribution to new knowledge that it represents. We would like to express sincere congratulations to Behzad on such an outstanding and significant achievement.
