Bernadotte grantholder Laleh Kazemi Veisari exhibits at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts

Laleh Kazemi Veisari is the 2019 recipient of the Bernadotte program studio and working grant from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. The exhibition The Everyday Holds the Broken presents a view into her recent research, reflections, and meditations on Walter Benjamin's last writings Theses on the Philosophy of History (Über den begriff der Geschichte).

In the installation, new paintings, drawings, and sculptural objects oscillate in-between intimacy, the mechanical gaze and the viewers presence.

Laleh Kazemi Veisari (b 1983) received an MFA in Fine Art from Konstfack in the spring of 2019. She is the 2018 recipient of the drawing grant at Bror Hjortföreningen in Uppsala. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science, and a MSc in interdisciplinary studies at the Department of Political Science at Gothenburg university.
