Konstfack granted Erasmus+ mobility in partnership with Palestinian university

23 May 2019

We are proud to announce that Konstfack has been granted an Erasmus+ mobility grant in partnership with Birzeit University in Palestine (2019-2021). Thanks to this grant, art students, faculty and staff at Konstfack and Birzeit will be able to work at the partner institution and share questions, skills, teaching and learning methods as well as experiences and strategies.

This mobility represents an exceptional learning and development opportunity in terms of pedagogics as well as general human qualities. Both art faculties share as main aims to promote an independent artistic development and provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge for their artistic work while promoting a critical discussion on the artist's role in society. However, the potentials, needs and possibilities of each context are radically different, which constitutes the very richness of this exchange for both educational communities.

– I am extraordinary happy beeing able continue a long relationship with our partners in the region. The difference between the mediated image of a place and the reality on location is enormous, especially in this case. Therefore I encourage as many as possible from both institutions to use the opportunity to travel between Stockholm and Ramallah, says Maria Lantz, Vice-Chancellor at Konstfack.
