Martín Avila new professor in design

Former senior lecturer Martin Avila is appointed new professor in design at the Department of Design, Interior Architecture and Visual Communication.

He has been teaching since 2007 and has been responsible for the development of the subject design for sustainable development, and for some joint courses on the master's programme. Martín Avila holds a Master in Design Studies from Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design in London (1999), and a degree in Industrial Design from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina (1995).

He has worked as industrial and graphic designer as well as design consultant. In addition, he has lectured both in Sweden and internationally, for instance at Beckmans, SSES (Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship), IASPIS and KTH, and at the National University of Cordoba, Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, University of Split and the Hong Kong Design Center.

He received his PhD in 2012 with the dissertation "Devices. On Hospitality, Hostility and Design" and has been engaged in an international postdoc project.
