18 September 2017

Martin Avila, Senior Lecturer at Konstfack, presents a project from his postdoctoral work in Paris. And his PhD dissertation titled "Devices. On Hospitality, Hostility and Design" has been translated into Spanish.

Martin AvilaOn 17 October, Martin Avila will present a project from his postdoctoral work financed by the Swedish Research Council. The lecture is titled "Design responses as response diversity".

The international conference "La vie à l'oeuvre/Life at work" in Paris, France, brings together artists, designers, architects and researchers who develop a reflection on ways to integrate living things into projects in art, design and architecture. By exposing living beings or vital processes, or by collaborating with them, these explorations that put "life at work" contribute to the emergence of new ecologies.

The National University of Córdoba (UNC), Argentina has translated Martin Avila’s PhD dissertation titled "Devices. On Hospitality, Hostility and Design" into Spanish. The book, that was published in June 2017, and translated as “Dispositivos. Sobre la Hospitalidad, la Hostilidad y el Diseño”, is now reading material for design students at UNC, and is also being disseminated throughout several Spanish-speaking countries.
