Abstract
This workshop is for people who are trying to cultivate a sense of humor in their writing. It is WAY too much pressure to be funny on our own (or with others, for that matter). We will use prompts and exercises to lower the pressure and get to know our own unique comedic sensibilities. A great place to start a new project, get re-inspired for a project you’re working on, or begin or refresh an ongoing writing practice. All genres of writing welcome and no experience needed.

Morgan Bassichis
Morgan Bassichis is a comedic performer whose recent shows include Don't Rain On My Bat Mitzvah (Creative Time, 2021), co-created with Ira Khonen Temple. Their book, The Odd Years, was published by Wendy's Subway in 2020. Morgan has released two albums: March is for Marches with Ethan Philbrick (2019) and More Protest Songs! Live From St. Mark’s Church (2018). They wrote the introduction for Nightboat Books’ 2019 edition of Larry Mitchell and Ned Asta’s 1977 The Faggots & Their Friends Between Revolutions.
