Konstfack Research Week 2018, 30 January – 2 February

Welcome to meet with teachers at Konstfack, PhD candidates and other Swedish and international practitioners. Learn about the basics and infrastructure of research and the Konstfack and KTH Royal Institute of Technology's joint doctoral programme 'Art, Technology and Design'. Engage in exercises in materials, decoration, diffraction and intersectionality, and discuss the relation between contemporary art, visual arts teaching education, craft, design, interior architecture and visual communication.

Konstfack Research Week 2018 offers a rich and diverse program with lectures, seminars and workshops on/with practical knowledge, artistic research, performance lectures, site visits, and film programs. After two days introducing research and highlighting the doctoral programme it unfolds through a parallel program of trans-institutional nodes. These will engage in questions around essayistic practice, interweaving narratives, the notion of cladding, forms of thought, matter and becoming, love, collectivity and solidarity.

Invited guests include Jessica Hemmings, Darla Crispin, Mara Lee, Matthew Raw, Magnus Haglund, Ann-Marie Tung Hermelin, Catherine Anyango Grünewald, Esther Peeren, Ectoplasmic Materialism, Annie Lowe, Vera Knútsdóttir, Päivi Ernqvist, Gunilla Edemo, Saadia Hussein, Lisa Nyberg, Bronwyn Bailey-Charteris, Emily Fahlén, Emmeli Person, Fia-Stina Sandlund, Einat Amir, Sophie Vukovic and Thomas Keenan.
