Behzad Khosravi Noori (PhD candidate in the Art, Technology and Design-pogram at Konstfack/KTH) will present his ongoing PhD project, a work in progress (at this stage 50%). In the seminar text he presents thoughts and concepts that, at this stage, are vital in his arguments related to artistic experience. By using storytelling and micro histories he attempts to explore the necessity of itinerancy and multi-sited practices that may takes place within the context of what he calls hyper-politicized time and place. In the project he combines and discovers diverse connections between movements, places, writing practices and filmic experiences in order to explore and propel the multiplicity of hyper-politicized social environments. Here he tries to shed light on specific prerequisites for discussing the question of what happens with art/discourse when/if it crosses borders? The PhD at large is an endeavor of an investigational form of writing and art practice in relation to image and narrative strategy.

Behzad Khosravi Noori is an artist, writer and educator based in Stockholm and Tehran. In his artistic research project he makes efforts to go beyond criticality. His works experiment with narrative strategy and different modes of writing to investigate the relationship between text, sound and image and at the same time bring the necessity of aesthetics of methodology into artistic practices. Khosravi holds a MFA from Konstfack (Art in Public Realm) and Motion Pictures from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran. He has been teaching comparative art history with a focus on Islamicate art as well as research based art practices in various art universities in Tehran, Shiraz in Iran, Umeå architecture school and Konstfack in Sweden. His works have been exhibited in Sweden at Tensta Konsthall, Botkyrka Konsthall, MKC, Skånes Konstförening and internationally in Tehran, Istanbul, Berlin, Ramallah and 2nd Research Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2017.
