Erasmus Policy Statement

Konstfack chooses to collaborate with the most prominent Art and Design schools in the world. These are selected through a constant dialogue between the International Office, our students and Professors. Konstfack is involved in a variety of International networks such as Cumulus, ELIA and Nordplus. Through these networks we also get inspiration to new partnerships.

Today we have many partners in Europe, Asia and USA. Our aim is to collaborate more with South America and Africa. At the moment we do not participate in the development of double/multiple/joint degrees.

The mobility activities take place in the first cycle: for second year students during the spring semester and for third year students during the fall semester.

Our strategy is to place the exchange students in the ordinary education programs together with the Swedish students. The exchange students are extremely important to the quality of the education. Both through the experiences and perspectives they bring and through the contacts created in the collaboration with our Swedish students. The exchange students become an integrated part of Konstfack’s education and they have a direct impact on the education in all.

Konstfack has a high level of higher education graduates. We support the students who fail to graduate so that they can fulfil their education and graduate. We change and develop our education to clarify the different parts and explain how these parts create progression. We do not have a problem with drop outs. Konstfack is constantly working to improve the quality and relevance of teaching and researcher training through the unique mixture of theory and practice in all programs.

Konstfack has a high level of employability but we are working on satisfying the employability need and designing the programs to become more research preparative. We will extend the opportunities for students to gain additional skills through study or training abroad by giving them the chance to go on mobility during the second cycle. We are also working on widening our horizon by starting collaborations in South America and Africa. This will boost higher education performance.

We strengthen the knowledge triangle by educating future professional who through their skills will develop society. Konstfack also contribute through artistic research leading to new knowledge both within and outside our own disciplines. Konstfack’s students, researchers and teachers are also active partners with business, public and voluntary sectors locally, regionally, nationally and globally.
