Minimize the spread of infection

In case of suspicion of infection spreading at Konstfack
In order to be able to trace infections at Konstfack, reporting of illness with covid-19 must take place as follows.

Students who have received a positive test result notify the course responsible teacher, who then notifies the head of department. If several people have fallen ill within the same program or department, the head of department reports to the property manager.

Staff announces positive test results to the nearest manager. If several have fallen ill at the same unit or department, the responsible manager reports to the property manager.

The property manager leads the work of tracing the disease and any measures to try to minimize the spread of infection at Konstfack.


If covid-19 is detected at Konstfack, the following applies:

 Unvaccinated persons who have been close to the infected for at least 15 minutes, 1–2 days before the onset of symptoms, should be at home for 5 days from the potential time of infection. Alternatively, the unvaccinated can test themselves and, in the event of a negative test result, be present on campus again.

People who have been vaccinated and met the infected person can come to Konstfack as usual but must be observant of symptoms.

Yes, you can take time from work to get vaccinated.

Should I get tested if I have symptoms or have been ill?

A colleague is coughing and seems to have a fever but is still at work. What should I do?
If you are worried, inform your manager.


Should I go to work if  my partner/children are showing symptoms?

If you live with someone who is infected and therefore has been suspended from working by a doctor, you can apply for disease carrier allowance from the Försäkringskassan. Read more about didease cariier allowance at Försäkringskassan:


Work at home or be physically at work - what about?
Agree with your closest manager about when to attend Konstfack and when you can work from home.


Face mask: if, when and how?
Konstfack follows the Public Health Agency's guidelines. This means that we do not give any general recommendation for the use of face masks.
We have noticed that situations can arise where the use of face masks can contribute to reduced spread of infection.
Example of a situation can be during teaching, when students and teachers need to stand closer to each other than 2 meters.
When using face mask, it is important that they are handled correctly not to create the opposite effect.

Routines for use of face mask:
• Handled as a disposable item and must not be reused.
• Nose and mouth should be completely covered.
• Do not touch the cover while using it. When the cover becomes damp from exhaled air, it must be replaced.
• When putting on and taking off the mask, use hand sanitizer before and after (preferably only touch the strap).
• Dispose of the face mask in a bin before leaving the room in question.

Staff can pick up face masks at the reception.


In case of illness and ill health

How about 'karensdag' (first day of un-paid sick leave)?


Do I need to send in a doctor's certifacate?
You have to forward a certificate of illness from the 15th day of sick leave  to Försäkringskassan. Read more on their website .


What applies to care of a sick child"VAB"?
Inform the nearest manager that you are at home for the care of a sick child.
You register VAB in Primula as soon as possible - just as usual.
A medical certificate is needed from VAB day 15, read more at www.forsakringskassan.


Should I register illness in Primula?
Notify your manager that you are ill. The manager records this in Primula from day one.
When you are healthy and return to work, log into Primula and end your sick period. 


I have got neck blockage, back pain, and mouse arm and feel alone!
Keep in mind that your work environment at home is not always the best. Prevent work injuries by:

  • Take micro-pauses!
  • Take the time to digital coffee with your colleagues, invite those you don't usually have coffee with!
  • If you feel it is extra difficult at home for some reason, feel free to contact our company health care Feelgood.

Is there extra support and help available from Konstfack's health care center?
Answer: Occupational Health Care Feelgood does not conduct any sampling or other medical measures in connection with covid19. In case of concern Feelgood can be contacted. Call support is provided via distance with a psychologist or behavioral scientist.

Distance teaching, safe teaching and working from home

What do I do if I need IT support?
All questions and booking of IT support are referred to or telephone 08-450 43 99 (extension 4399).

From Monday the 15th of March no visiting hours are offered (so-called Drop-In). All contact is made by phone or email. This is to reduce the risk of employees at IT becoming infected and thus ensuring that we have a working IT support at Konstfack.


How should I think about internet and security when I work from home?

Where can I borrow microphone and speaker?
Microphone and speakers are available to borrow at the reception.
Recommended to use during exhibition talks/ teaching in Vita havet in order to make it easier for all participants to hear even from a distance.

When working or teaching from home: what digital tools should I use for contact with staff and students?
Answer:  For distance education, Canvas is used for course assignments, teaching materials etc.
Zoom is used as a supplement instead of physical meetings, such as in studio talks, some supervision and seminars.

Working hours

What applies when it comes to extra time and overtime compensation?

For additional / overtime work related to the corona situation, contact the nearest manager of special processing according to the agreed routine.

You may be asked to re-prioritize your work tasks, perhaps even asked to take on new work tasks within your regular working hours. Redistribution of tasks is not a basis for extra or overtime.

Business trips

On business trips - what applies?
The public health authority's restrictions on travel should be observed and if a business trip has to be carried out, it must be approved in advance by the nearest manager.

If you have questions about travel insurance / other insurance, please contact your nearest manager or HR unit.

What if I want to cancel my business trip - will Konstfack get the money back?
If you wish to cancel due to the corona virus then you cannot cancel without having to pay cancellation fees associated with the air ticket. However, if the airline cancels a flight due to the corona virus, you will receive a full refund.

Virus outbreaks abroad are not a valid reason for reimbursing a trip. This also applies if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a recommendation for travel to the country in question. Konstfack's insurance cover only applies if the traveler, or a relative of the traveler, falls ill, accidents, or an injury or break-in at home. Disease or virus outbreaks in the destination are not valid grounds.


Can Konstfack stop me from traveling in the service? What about private travel?
Konstfack can stop business trips.
