Lena Séraphin, new guest postdoctoral researcher

18 september 2017

This autumn, the Department of Fine Art at Konstfack has the joy to host a guest postdoctoral researcher, Lena Séraphin.

Lena  Séraphin is a visual artist based in Helsinki, Finland. Her work consists of writing and visual works that place emphasis on display as a dramaturgic event. She received her doctor degree the spring of 2017 at the Aalto University.

Her dissertation ”The Don Quixote Complex and laborations in fictionality” (March 2017, Konstfack professor Magnus Bärtås was deputy supervisor) is based on observations of the artist herself as a varying assembly of roles. It analyses the Doppelgänger as an artistic device and investigates the potential of fictionality.
