Open School presents Bart De Baets
Bart de Baets (1979, Knokke, Belgium) is an Amsterdam based graphic designer. He has designed identities and exhibitions for a variety of clients such as artist space W139, De Appel, design platform SALON and The Weight of Colour.
He has collaborated on publications with artists Melanie Bonajo, Frank Koolen and Koen Hauser. Under the name Mosquitoes, Elephants, Mountains & Molehills, Bart has been initiating several posters and publications. Together with Rustan Söderling he makes Dark & Stormy, a modest fanzine about writer’s block. Success and Uncertainty is the title of a series of posters made with graphic designer Sandra Kassenaar whom he traveled to Cairo with, from March till July last year. Bart teaches graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld academy in Amsterdam and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.
Open School is a sporadic lecture, workshop & seminar series organized by the Graphic Design & Illustration program at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design.
The lecture will be in English, free entrance, open to the public. WELCOME!
