Teacher Education
The Department of Visual Arts and Sloyd Education at Konstfack offers two teacher education programmes. The language of instruction is Swedish.
We offer one 5-year programme for students who want to become teachers at upper secondary level, with Visual Arts as main subject and Media or Design as the second subject.
Our other programme is a 4.5-year education to become teacher at secondary level in Visual Arts and Sloyd. This programme also gives qualification to teach Visual Arts at upper secondary school.
The 5-year programme leads to a Degree of Master of Arts in Upper Secondary Education, and the 4.5-year programme leads to a Degree of Master of Arts in Secondary Education.
All teaching is in Swedish and is aimed at the Swedish school system. It is therefore required that you master Swedish or another Scandinavian language in order to follow the programme.
Language test
The undergraduate programmes are conducted in Swedish. For applicants with a foreign upper-secondary school education that lack qualifications in Swedish, a TISUS test is required. TISUS is recognised by all universities in Sweden as a statement of eligibility in the Swedish language. For more information please go to www.su.se/svefler/tisus.
